​Appointments

Harper Guitar Works operates by appointment only. Scheduling an appointment ensures your instrument receives the time and attention it deserves while minimizing wait times.

Booking Fee

A $25 booking fee is required to reserve your appointment.

The booking fee is credited toward any setup, repair, or modification performed by Harper Guitar Works.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice for a full refund of the booking fee.

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice and no-show appointments are not eligible for a refund.

Instrument Evaluation

Every instrument begins with a professional evaluation. This allows us to discuss your concerns, inspect the instrument, and recommend the most appropriate course of action before any work is performed.

Many repairs cannot be accurately quoted until the instrument has been inspected in person.

Estimates

An estimate will be provided before work begins. If additional issues are discovered during the repair process, you will be contacted for approval before any additional work is performed.

Turnaround Time

Completion times vary depending on the type of service, parts availability, and current shop workload. An estimated completion date will be provided after your instrument has been evaluated.

Payment

Payment in full is due at drop off for all standard services, including setups, re-strings, fret dressing, refrets, and other services with established pricing.

Custom work, special-order parts, and non-standard repairs require a 50% deposit before work begins. The remaining balance is due upon completion and before the instrument is released.

All completed work must be paid in full before the instrument is returned to the customer.

Customers will be notified when their instrument is ready for pickup or when Harper Guitar Works requires further authorization to proceed.

30-Day Setup Adjustment & Workmanship Warranty

Harper Guitar Works stands behind our work.

Setups: If your instrument requires a minor adjustment within 30 days of your completed setup, bring it back and we will make the necessary setup adjustments at no charge. Whenever practical, these adjustments will be performed while you wait.

The setup adjustment guarantee applies to the original setup and does not cover changes in string gauge or tuning, damage, modifications, normal wear, or conditions unrelated to the original service.

Repairs and Labor: Our workmanship is warranted for 30 days from completion. If a problem results from work performed by Harper Guitar Works, we will correct that work at no additional labor charge.

Parts: Parts and components manufactured by third parties are covered by the applicable manufacturer's or supplier's warranty, if any. Harper Guitar Works warrants the workmanship of the installation, but does not provide an additional warranty on third-party or customer-supplied parts.

Abandoned and Unclaimed Instruments

Completed instruments must be picked up within 14 days of notification unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

Beginning on the 15th day, Harper Guitar Works may charge a storage fee of $5 per day, to the extent permitted by law.

If an instrument remains unclaimed for 90 days, Harper Guitar Works may issue final notice to the customer requiring pickup and payment of all outstanding repair, material, and storage charges.

Instruments remaining unclaimed after final notice will be handled in accordance with applicable California law. Harper Guitar Works does not assume ownership of, sell, dispose of, or otherwise permanently retain a customer's instrument except as permitted by law.

Customers are responsible for providing current telephone, email, and mailing contact information.
